Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 12, 2026 · TheDigicar LLC
The short version
The PocketAlign app works entirely offline and sends us nothing. It doesn't even ask Android for internet access. Your vehicle profiles, calibration, and measurement history live only on your phone, and the only way they leave is if you export a PDF or CSV and share it yourself.
The website keeps anonymous, cookie-free page counters and nothing else. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no selling data, no emails.
That's the plain-English gist. The full policy below is what's binding.
1.Who we are & what this covers
This Privacy Policy describes how TheDigicar LLC ("PocketAlign," "we," "us") handles information in connection with two things: the PocketAlign Android app (package com.gyroplane.align, distributed as a direct APK download from pocketalign.com — not through any app store), and the pocketalign.com website, including its browser-based calculators and track tools (together, the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2.What we deliberately do not collect
- Give the app network access. The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission, so the operating system itself prevents it from transmitting anything, to us or to anyone else.
- Embed analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or payment SDKs in the app. There are none. Zero third-party SDKs that phone home.
- Create accounts or identifiers. No logins, no user IDs, no advertising identifiers, no device fingerprints — in the app or on the website.
- Set cookies for the website's analytics. The site's visit counter uses no cookies, no localStorage, and no identifiers of any kind (see Section 8).
- Sell or rent personal information. To anyone, for any purpose. We also do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Email you. We have no address to email you at, and we send no newsletters or marketing.
3.The Android app: everything stays on your device
The app reads your phone's gyroscope and accelerometer (via the rotation-vector sensor) to measure wheel orientation and compute alignment angles — toe, camber, caster, thrust angle, and Ackermann. These readings are processed in real time on your device; raw sensor streams are not retained beyond the active measurement.
Data the app stores, all of it locally on your phone:
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle profiles and saved alignment sessions | A local database (Room) on your device | So you can keep measurement history per vehicle. |
| Level-mount / adapter calibration | Local app storage (DataStore) on your device | To correct for your specific adapter and phone. |
| Exported PDF reports and CSV files | Your device, and wherever you choose to share them | Created only when you tap export. See Section 4. |
None of this is personal data in our hands — the app has no way to send it to us, and we never receive it and cannot access it.
4.Exports & sharing
You can export measurement results as PDF reports or CSV files. Exports are generated on your device and handed off through the Android share sheet to an app you choose (email, cloud storage, messaging, and so on). Once you share an export, the receiving app or service handles it under its own privacy policy — that hand-off is entirely under your control, and we are not part of it.
5.Device backups
The app allows Android's standard backup mechanism (android:allowBackup is enabled). If you have device backup turned on in Android, your app data — vehicle profiles, calibration, and saved sessions — may be included in your device's backup to your Google account, under Google's privacy policy and backup terms. We have no access to those backups. You can turn off device backup, or manage what gets backed up, in your Android system settings.
6.Permissions & sensors
- Storage (Android 9 / API 28 and below only): on older Android versions the app requests write-storage permission solely to save exported PDF/CSV files. On Android 10 and newer, no storage permission is requested or needed.
- Gyroscope and accelerometer: required for the app to function; readings stay on the device as described in Section 3.
- The app does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or network.
7.Deleting your app data
All app data lives on your device, so deletion is entirely in your hands: clear the app's data in Android settings, or uninstall the app — uninstalling deletes all app data (copies may persist in a Google device backup until that backup is overwritten or you disable it, per Section 5). There is nothing for us to delete on any server, because we hold nothing.
8.Website analytics: how we count visitors without tracking you
The website uses a small first-party analytics beacon, not a third-party tracking service. When you visit a page:
- Your browser sends only the page name (and occasionally a named product event, such as "someone clicked the download button") to our own endpoint (
/api/collect), which increments anonymous server-side counters. - It sets no cookies, uses no localStorage, and generates no device ID, user ID, session ID, or fingerprint. It cannot identify you or link your visits together.
That's it — no analytics cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party analytics scripts. Like most web infrastructure, our hosting and content delivery providers process IP addresses transiently in order to deliver the site and maintain standard operational logs (IP address, user agent, request time) for security and reliability; we do not use those logs to identify visitors.
9.Browser tools, cookies & downloads
The calculators and track tools on the site run entirely in your browser — values you type into them are computed on your device and never transmitted to us or stored after you close the tab. The site sets no cookies. Downloading the APK is a plain file download; we do not tie downloads to any identity.
10.How information is shared
Since we collect essentially nothing, there is essentially nothing to share. The complete list:
- Service providers. The website and its anonymous counters run on hosting and CDN infrastructure that processes technical data (like IP addresses) transiently to serve the site, as any web host does.
- Third-party hand-offs you initiate. If you share an export from the app, or follow a link off the site (for example to thedigicar.com or a manufacturer's site), the receiving party's own privacy policy applies.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or as reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or the Service.
- Business transfers. If TheDigicar LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy's commitments.
We never sell personal information, and we share nothing with advertisers — there are no advertisers.
11.Data retention
- App data: retained on your device until you delete it (Section 7). We never receive it.
- Anonymous site counters: aggregate numbers with no personal component, which may be kept indefinitely.
- Hosting/CDN logs: standard operational logs are retained by our infrastructure providers for a limited period consistent with their normal operating practices, then discarded.
12.Security
The app's offline design is the primary safeguard: data that never leaves your phone cannot be breached in transit or on our servers. The website is served over HTTPS, and APK releases are cryptographically signed with our release key — updates install over the existing app only if the signature matches. No system is perfectly secure, but here there is very little to secure, which is the point.
13.Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal information, to object to processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights (EU/UK GDPR; California CCPA/CPRA). In practice:
- We hold no personal data about you, so there is normally nothing for us to produce, correct, or delete — all app data is on your own device (Section 7), and the site's counters are anonymous.
- Opt out of sale/sharing: nothing to opt out of — we don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
- To the extent the anonymous site counters or transient hosting logs involve any processing of personal data at all, our legal basis under the GDPR is legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating and securing a website — processing that is minimal, expected, and privacy-preserving by design.
If you believe we hold personal data about you, email thedigicar@gmail.com (subject: "Privacy") and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authorization. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
14.Children
The Service is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or, for that matter, from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15.Users outside the United States
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the website from elsewhere, you understand that the minimal technical data described above is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. App data never leaves your device, so no international transfer of it occurs on our side.
16.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted at this page. For material changes we will provide prominent notice on pocketalign.com. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance.
